MNL48 reveals Top 200 semi-finalists

The Top 200 semi-finalists who will move on to the next stage of the search for the first generation members of MNL48, were presented today, January 20, on ABS-CBN’s noontime show, It’s Showtime.

The 200 semi-finalists were introduced to the audience and performed live for the very first time as part of It’s Showtime’s launch of the MNL48 segment that will officially start airing every day (Monday to Saturday) beginning January 29.

Meanwhile, for one week starting January 22 until January 26, the Kapamilya noontime show will be featuring the Top 200 contestants’ sing and dance videos on the segment, along with their panel interview and their first pictorial. Through this, It’s Showtime viewers and MNL48 supporters will get a chance to get to know the semi-finalists or their Oshis before screening and selection of the Top 100 aspirants which is now in the hands of a panel of judges.

The much-awaited announcement of Top 100 finalists will be on January 27, 2018 on It’s Showtime and the contestants who will make the cut will compete for the first MNL48 General Election this April.

MNL48 TOP 200 Cut-off on January 14, 3pm

From a total of 4,134 registered applicants, only 200 aspirants will move on to the next stage of the application. The selection of Top 200 is based on the number of Oshi (likes) the contestants will earn until January 14, 3pm.

All fans with verified supporter accounts are encouraged to support their favorite applicants by liking their profiles through the website or MNL48 Plus App.

Applicants will be no longer allowed to update their accounts, while the supporters will not be able to "Like" applicants in the MNL48 website and mobile app after the mentioned deadline.

The names of the Top 200 will be announced on ABS-CBN's noontime show, It's Showtime on January 20, 2018.

Tokyo Girls Collection Shop is set to open in Japan Town at Vertis North Mall

Hallohallo Inc. (HHI) will soon open the pioneer in fashion events in Japan, Tokyo Girls Collection Shop or “TGC Shop” inside one of the biggest commercial complex facility in Quezon City operated by Ayala Malls, Vertis North Mall with the theme “bringing Japan’s real clothes to the world”.

The opening of the TGC Shop here in the Philippines will be done under the second wave of collaborative projects between HHI and the joint-venture company between Mitsubishi Corp, and Ayala Land of the Ayala Group, which is the biggest conglomerate in the Philippines in partnership with Japan’s leader in fashion trends, Tokyo Girls Collection (head office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, president and CEO of W TOKYO Inc.: Noriyoshi Murakami).

The TGC Shop, leading Japan's fashion market in the Philippines, will carry apparel, accessories, wigs, hair extensions and other products inspired by the "kawaii" culture that is famous among Japanese teenagers and young adults in their 20s. It will embark the creation of new entertainment from the Philippines to the world through the Kawaii x Fashion x Internet formula.

Furthermore, it will regularly hold events attracting kawaii-related idols and models in Japan, as well as fashion shows and other events using its built-in runway inside the TGC Shop, with the help of Japanese models and from the idol group MNL48 managed by HHI, which is engaged in the production of Japan Town at a vast space measuring approximately 4,230 sqm inside Vertis North Mall.

Given the demands of the Internet culture nowadays, HHI expects massive demand from the younger generation who are fashion conscious by live streaming the event stage in partnership with the live video streaming platform SHOWROOM (head office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, president and CEO: Yuji Maeda), as well as selling items and other products from brands associated with idols and models through live commerce.

MNL48 successfully closes Grand Registration and Audition with AKB48 Team 8

After the successful nationwide search for the first generation members of the newest idol group in the Philippines, MNL48 fires an outstanding and star-studded Grand Registration and Audition tour at ABS-CBN Compound last December 2 and 3, 2017 with Japan’s popular all-girl-group, AKB48 Team 8.

Hundreds of MNL48 hopefuls lined up at the gate and filled the compound during the two-day event before it officially closed last Sunday, 3pm. The final registration ended with a total of 4,134 active applicants to compete with each other.

During the first day of the event, AKB48 Team 8 members Honda Hitomi, Hidaritomo Ayaka, Yokomichi Yuri, Nagano Serika, Ota Nao, Nakano Ikumi and Hitomi Kotone performed live on ABS-CBN’s noontime show, It’s Showtime, where it also aired on national television when celebrity hosts Karylle, Jugs & Teddy, and Hashtags Luke & Nikko visited the audition area.

After the audition proper, a mall show at SM North EDSA and a mini show were also held where the members performed their popular and favorite songs. Their energetic supporters cheered out with joy as they went up the stage.

On the last day of the event, the media got the privilege to ask few questions to them before their final guesting on the live update posted on MNL48 Facebook page hosted by Hashtags Luke and Nikko which had 7.1K views.

The cute, charming and talented members also gave advice on how to be an idol before they head back to Japan. They shared that when you really love something, you have to put an effort to it, never give up. There are people who are not that good in singing and dancing, but they should use this as a motivation to try harder every day.

Moreover, they explained that they always look for a way on how they can make their fans happy.

AKB48 started its unique concept of “Idols You Can Meet” in 2005 and has since been performing in their own theater at Akihabara, Tokyo. The concept has reached to several sister groups across Asia namely in Jakarta, Taipei, and Bangkok.

Meanwhile, although the registration and audition has finished, MNL48 will be one of the segments of It’s Showtime to feature the top 100 girls before it will be filtered to 48 to undergo training.

As AKB48 Team 8 will be visiting the country for the third time to show support for MNL48's Grand Registration and Audition and its applicants, they will also be holding their special mini show on December 2 and 3, 3PM, at ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City.

AKB48 Team 8 members: Honda Hitomi, Hidaritomo Ayaka, Yokomichi Yuri, Nagano Serika, Ota Nao, Nakano Ikumi, and Hitomi Kotone will be performing some of their popular hit songs on their mini show at the ABS-CBN Center Road in line with MNL48's ongoing idol search.

After the heart-warming welcome from Iloilo City, MNL48 registration and audition gains new pleasing applicants and supporters with its four consecutive successful tours at University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM), Robinsons Galleria and Gaisano Country Mall Cebu City last November 16-19, 2017.

MNL48 registration and audition gears up to its last remaining tour dates

After the successful tours in Luzon and Visayas, Team Mindanao has nothing to worry about because this week MNL48 registration and audition tour will be heading to the beautiful city of Davao to scour young and talented Davaoeños who wish to become part of the newest sister group of AKB48. MNL48 tour will be visiting University of Southeastern Philippines on November 23, Rizal Park on November 25 and Gmall Toril on November 26.

AKB48 Team 8 is back in Manila for MNL48 grand registration, audition

The highest-selling and phenomenal all-girl idol group, AKB48's Team 8 will be visiting the Philippines on December 2 and 3 at the ABS-CBN Compound in support for the MNL48 Grand Registration and Audition.

MNL48 idol search is now down to its last few legs of its nationwide registration and audition tour, where it is currently in Cebu City, in search for talented and charming Filipinas between 15 to 20 years old who dream to be part of the biggest idol group in the country. The tour will hold its final stop at ABS-CBN compound to give MNL48 hopefuls a last chance to register, showcase their talent and get a chance to meet the seven members of Team 8.

Aside from gracing the last venue of the registration and audition tour, AKB48 Team 8 Honda Hitomi, Hidaritomo Ayaka, Yokomichi Yuri, Nagano Serika, Ota Nao, Nakano Ikumi, and Hitomi Kotone will also be guesting on several Kapamilya shows including ABS-CBN’s Prime Tanghali show, “It's Showtime” where the MNL48 idol search will be airing this coming 2018.

Before the MNL48 Grand Registration and Audition on December, the tour will be heading to several venues in Davao City including Rizal Park on November 25.

As the tour nearly comes to an end, applicants are encouraged to campaign to gather more supporters because unlike other competitions, this idol search will have no set of panel judges and will rely 100% on audience vote.

Hundreds of aspiring MNL48 members carried their confidence, best smiles, and outstanding performance with them to prove that Team Visayas also has the talent and qualities to become part of the newest idol group in the Philippines that will soon air on ABS-CBN’s prime tanghali show “It’s Showtime”. Young and charming applicants were seen with their families and friends, all out support to motivate and cheer for them in this once in a lifetime experience.

Hashtags heat up the stage of MNL48 tour at Atria Mall and Molo Park

Aspiring MNL48 members and supporters filled the registration and audition area at Atria Mall and Molo Park as Hashtags Luke Conde, Nikko Natividad and Zeus Collins boosted the energy of the crowd when they hosted the event, and did exciting activities and fun-filled games such as MNL48 trivia questions and the all-time popular game, “bring me”. MNL48 t-shirts were given to fortunate winners of the game while 3 of the lucky applicants graced an on-the-spot sing and dance performance of AKB48’s hit song, Aitakatta. Hallo Hallo Entertainment’s very own 48G dancers also danced to the grove of your favorite AKB48-inspired songs.

Applicants and supporters who registered had the chance to take a selfie and photo with the Hashtags members at the MNL48 audition truck.

MNL48 tour visits STI and WVSU

MNL48 gained hundreds of new members and supporters from the students of STI College and West Visayas State University after the registration and audition tour held at their schools last November 10 and 13. The participative and ecstatic students made the audition even more exciting as they support their friends and classmates in their auditions, and their cheers made the event even more special.

MNL48 registration and audition tour successfully caters hundreds of charming and talented young ladies in Luzon when it kicked off last October 14, 2017. After the previous accomplished events, the search for the first generation members of the newest idol group in the country will soon fly to Visayas.

The registration and audition tour was launched at Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, Cainta last October 14 and 15 and was attended by ecstatic applicants and supporters who were all excited for the much-awaited idol search. Succeeding tours also received overwhelming support from both fans and hopefuls were held successfully at Far Eastern University last October 19, Starmall, Alabang last October 20 and 21, LRT Legarda last October 25, Immaculate Conception at Sta. Maria Bulacan last October 26, Intramuros, Manila last October 27, and Tutuban Mall last November 4.

Now that the Luzon tour has finally wrapped-up its last leg at Batangas State University last November 6, girls between 15-20 years old from Visayas are all set to showcase their talent and represent their cities as MNL48 registration and audition tour visits Iloilo City on November 10, 11, 12 and 13 and Cebu City on November 18 and 19.

MNL48 tour successfully held its registration, audition in Intramuros, Manila

Intramuros, Manila, October 27, 2017 – Talented students and individuals from Manila excitingly filled the registration and audition area as soon as the event started last Friday, October 27 hoping to become part of the biggest idol group in the Philippines, MNL48.

Considering that the audition truck was located at Muralla corner Real Street, most of the aspirants came from Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU). During their audition inside the MNL48 truck, the charming and talented girls gained an overwhelming cheer from the crowd who gathered around the area and even registered as fans to show their support for their friends.

One of the fans also came to witness the event was Lea Pineda, a graduate of University Santo Tomas who has been a fan of JPop for seven long years. According to her, she recently became a fan of AKB48 because of the hype MNL48 is receiving.

“Kaya nga ako nag-punta dito para makita kung paano nag-wowork yung registration and audition. Nakaka-excite, nung una mixed feelings, nung na-launch ito last year parang ang tagal na walang usad, last year ko pa inaabangan anong mangyayari e,” she said.
