by John Paul

MNL48 Team NIV goes to Vistamall Pampanga on March 23, 2019 for MNL48 First Generation “Living the Dream: The Concert” this coming April 6, 2019 at New Frontier Theater.

The event started with a game wherein fans will guess who are the first act for the group’s upcoming concert. Also, fans showed their love as they promote their Kami-Oshi for the upcoming second general election. Some of the prizes are the whole body keychain of Sela, Abby and Center Girl Sheki.

Team NIV Ecka, Jem, Ella, Alyssa, Daryll, Jaydee, Aly, and Ruth performed Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie and Palusot Ko’y Maybe to show their gratefulness on the success of their Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie Handshake event occurred last March 10 and March 17, 2019.

Fans were surprised as the team wore their Palusot Ko’y Maybe uniform for the first time on their mall shows.

Pero we’re so happy po kasi we take this chance as an opportunity to our song Palusot Ko’y Maybe and of course our upcoming concert po” Alyssa added.

Meanwhile, MNL48 “Living The Dream: The concert” is just two weeks away from now so make sure to buy the tickets at https://www.ticketnet.com.ph/ or at Hallohallo Entertainment Inc. office through info.mnl48@gmail.com for the SVIP tickets.

Bigger turnout for Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie Handshake Event Day 2

03/17/2019
by Wilson

Second day of the MNL48’s “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” Handshake Event did not disappoint as more fans joined the group at Centris Elements on March 17, 2019.

MNL48 fans, also called MNLoves, had another chance to interact and shake hands with their Oshi for as long as 10 seconds, and watch the idol group perform their hit tracks “Palusot Ko’y Maybe”, “First Rabbit”, “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie”, and “Manila48”.

Grateful for all their fans’ support for their second Handshake Event, Quincy thanked the MNLoves. “To be the first batch of members to hold your hands, it’s been an honor. Gusto po naming magpasalamat sa lahat ng pumunta sa Handshake Event namin simula first day hanggang ngayong last day. On behalf of all the members of first generation, no matter what happens we will always be together. Maraming salamat po!”

Rans also agreed with Quincy and appreciated the fans lining up for each of the MNL48 member, “maraming salamat po sa lahat ng pumila sa amin, at suportahan niyo po kami sa Second General Election. Kita-kita po tayo sa next event,” she claimed.

An avid MNL48 fan shared her special and memorable interaction with each MNL48 member during the event. “With this one, since you get to handshake each of them individually, it gets more special po because you get to have this one on one interaction with your oshi. It’s very special,” Alex Arquiza shared, attending the group’s handshake event for the second time.

As the “Idols you can meet” concept is being established here in the Philippines, she also expressed how these handshake events have helped her create a friendship with her kami-oshi, Faith. “Yung pinaka-main reason why [siya ang kami-oshi ko is] because the bond that I have created with her over the past, kasi I regularly attend events when I can, pag palagi ko siya nakikita we always talk na in a way parang nagde-develop na siya ng friendship parang ganon po, except that it’s an idol and fan relationship. Naka-create na kami ng ganoong bond so walang point for me to just switch oshi, siya na talaga kami-oshi ko.”

MNL48 is just weeks away from their first idol concert MNL48 First Generation “Living the Dream: The Concert” at the New Frontier Theater, so make sure to follow MNL48 official social media accounts and download the MNL48 Fan Club App available on Google Play Store and App Store for the latest news and updates.

MNL48 holds its “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” Handshake event at Centris Elements

03/10/2019
by John Paul

Promoting “Idols you can meet” culture here in the Philippines, MNL48 holds its first day of Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie Handshake event at Centris Elements on March 10, 2019.

Following the tradition of the highest-selling J-pop phenomenon and their sister group AKB48, fans who availed their Platinum hit single “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” of MNL48 will get a chance to be up close and shake hands their chosen oshi for 10 seconds compared from the “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita” Handshake event which is only five seconds.

The event started off as Team MII, Team L and Kenkyuusei perform “First Rabbit” followed by the performance of “Palusot Ko’t Maybe” by Team NIV and their Gold and Platinum hit single "Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie". The group also dedicated their new theater song, “Manila 48”, to their fans.

Also, Center Girl Sheki wishes all their fans to have a chance to shake hands with all the MNL48 members. The three-time Center Girl invited the MNLoves to join and support them on their upcoming concert MNL48 First Generation “Living the Dream: The Concert” at New Frontier theater on April 6, 2019.

Many emotions have been felt as fans shake their Idol’s hand for the second time and one of the them shared his thoughts how he felt happy for this event. “Actually ang dali lang ng tanong pero para sa isang fan ang hirap nya sagutin kasi sobrang saya and nakakakaba pa rin na kahit second time mo na, it still feels na parang first time mo parin kasi Idol nay un e, parang in a quarter yun na ‘yung interaction nyo na sobrang close” Lee Yoo Lazarra said.

“For now kasi ginawa na nilang 10 seconds, mas matagal compared sa first time na five seconds. Mas matagal tong PFC Handshake so ang haba nung time na nakausap ko ‘yung Oshi ko which is sobrang saya at nakaka-overwhelmed” he added.

Meanwhile MNL48 Necca expressed her gratitude to everyone who joined them today. “Thank you so much po MNLoves, specially to those people na nakipag-handshake sa bawat isa saamin. I hope to see you all again sa mga upcoming events and specially sa firsst ever concert namin na Living the Dream: The concert na gaganapin sa New Frontier Theater. We hope to see you there”.

Colleen, the center of “Palusot Ko’y Maybe”, acknowledge all the efforts that their supporters exert on their previous events and mall shows. “Nagpapasalamat po kami sa pagpapakita nyo po ng unending love and support saaming lahat. We hope to see you po on our second-day handshake next Sunday.”

Looking back, MNL48 together with Kenkyuusei had their first Handshake Event as an official first generation members and trainees last November 25, 2018 at Movie Stars Cafe for “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita” single.

MNL48 to hold the first idol concert in the Philippines

03/05/2019
by Wilson

Philippines’ idol group MNL48 will stage their first ever major concert on April 6, 2019 at the New Frontier Theater

During the press conference held today, March 6, 2019 at Movie Stars Café, MNL48 Sheki, Abby, Sela, Rans, Coleen, Brei, Belle, Gabb, Ella, Jan, Dian, Kay, Coleen, Jem, Lei, Mari, and Alyssa expressed their happiness that a lot of fans are eager to get the best seats in the theater to watch them perform in their biggest concert.

“To be honest, we are beyond grateful and happy dahil sa mga fans namin and excited to show other countries and Filipinos na ito ‘yung talentong Pilipino,” Dian said in the press conference.

img2.jpg

It was in the group’s official social media pages last February 1, that the “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” idols revealed that they will finally be holding their first concert since their breakthrough in 2018 which will be entitled “Living the Dream: The Concert”.

The show will also be the first idol concert in the country and thousands of fans are expected to join the JPOP-inspired concert to be directed by Direk GB Sampedro.

“Since this is their first major concert, expect them to do other things. They’ll be launching new number, new costume, and new songs; expect everyone to have fun. I find it exciting kasi iba siya sa ginagawa natin dito sa Pilipinas, para akong nag di-direct ng international concert,” Direk Sampedro explained how the concert will be different from the usual MNL48 events.

img3.jpg

The international sister group of Japan’s AKB48, who has been wowing fans not just in the Philippines but across Asia with their talent, music, and performances, will showcase their growth as an artist and group as they will perform their hit singles like “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita”, “Talulot Ng Sakura, “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” and more in an all-out production at a grander stage.

Moreover, the concert is MNL48 First Generation’s gift to their supportive fans, dubbed as MNLoves, who’s been with the group since day one.

MNL48 Center Girl Sheki expressed her happiness that their dreams are finally coming true. “Super excited po kaming lahat kasi dati pinapangarap lang po namin na makapag-conert in front of many people. Sobrang special po siya kasi buong First Generation po ang magpe-perform ng sama-sama with our MNLoves, kaya sobrang thankful po kami na magkakaroon kami ng ganitong event.”

Sheki further narrated how much preparations they are going through for the upcoming concert. “Ipapakita namin na may ibubuga ang MNL48 sa music and idol industry para rin makapag-leave kami ng mark sa araw na ‘yun na hinding-hindi nila makakalimutan.”

img4.jpg

Abby also explained how their performance in the recent AKB48 Group Asia Festival held in Bangkok helped them prepare in their upcoming concert. “Sobrang laki ng natulong sakin ‘nung concert sa Bangkok, sobrang daming ideas and lakas ng loob as an idol ‘yung nakuha ko doon, and mas na-inspire ako na makapagbigay saya sa ibang tao. Mas na-boost din po ‘yung confidence ko, na-realize ko na being an idol is about giving all your heart na walang takot na maipakita kung sino ka and malabas ‘yung best sayo.”

"Also, we did our best to perform in front of Thai people and other nationalities, what more pa this major concert namin na magpe-perform po kami in front of you," Jem added.

img5.jpg

Team Captain Alice said that they added more effort in their rehearsals because of MNL48’s Asia Festival experience.

img6.jpg

Joining the members and Direk GB Sampedro during the press conference was MNL48’s Producer Mr. Paulo Kurosawa who strongly believes that the girls are ready for the much-awaited concert.

img7.jpg

MNL48 is composed of 48 talented young girls, ages 15 to 20 years old lead by Senbatsu members (Top 16): Center girl Sheki, Abby, Sela, Brei, Belle, Rans, Coleen, Gabb, Jem, Lei, Mari, Jan, Kay, Alyssa, Faith, and Ella. The all-girl group first broke into the scene after being formed through a nationwide search televised on ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime”.

img8.jpg

After their debut, MNL48 released their first single “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita” under Star Music which ranked on the No.1 spot on iTunes Top Albums upon its release and entered popular music charts like Myx Daily Top 10 Pinoy, Pop Charts PH, and Pinoy Myx Countdown. The group followed it up with their second smashing single “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie” that earned MNL48 their first Gold and Platinum awards from Star Music and the Philippine Association of Record Industries.

In addition, the group also received Pinoy POP (PPOP) Awards for young artists’ year-end special award, “Youth Model of the Year – Huwaran ng Kabataan Award” last 2018 to recognize their influence for being a good role model to the young generation in uplifting the Filipino talents and showcasing the Filipino culture through their music and performance.

MNL48 releases “Palusot Ko’y Maybe” music video

02/23/2019
by Wilson

Following the success of their Platinum hit single “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie”, MNL48 launches its fifth music video, “Palusot Ko’y Maybe” starring Team NIV members on Myx Premier and on its official YouTube page today, February 23, 2019.

“Palusot Ko’y Maybe”, the Tagalog version of their international sister group and the highest-selling J-pop phenomenon, AKB48’s “Iiwake Maybe” is Team NIV Captain Ecka, Joyce, Daryll, Jaydee, Ruth, Hazel, and Madie’s first time to star in MNL48’s music video joining other members Abby, Ella, Jem, Lara, Alyssa, Belle, Aly, Brei, and first time Center Girl Coleen.

Music video Director Carlo Manatad shared that he wanted the music video to have its unique concept showing how the girls enjoy singing the song. “I wanted to be very conceptual. Mas bubbly but at the same time fierce, para siyang combination ng very hip but also classy feel so you see the colorful side and the Victorian classic concept, but of course not being away from the usual dancing which is part of the whole song na maganda ‘yung choreography.”

Manatad, who started as a film editor and has been in the video production industry for years, believes that the girls are very talented and are all good performers. “Gusto ko lang din sabayan ‘yung energy nila kasi they’re good dancers, good singers deserve nila ng better output and showcase what they can do. Sobrang natutuwa ako they really have their own unique personalities, they’re very nice, very bubbly, very young marami pa silang matututunan.”

Moreover, being the center girl of the music video was a surprise for Coleen but admitted that she was overwhelmed and proud of herself and for her team for being chosen for the music video. “Sobrang natutuwa po ako na binigyan po ako ng chance and ng trust. Sobrang saya po talaga lalo nung nakita namin ‘yung sample shots, ang ganda po talaga kaya excited na po ako mapanuod.”

Team Captain Ecka also narrated her experience in shooting the music video. “Sobra po akong tuwang tuwa kasi talagang matagal na naming minimithi ito lalo na team pa namin ‘yung napili, kaya sobra po ‘yung preparation namin and excitement para dito.”

Additionally, being part of MNL48’s music video for the fourth time, Jem and Abby feel blessed that the management continues to trust them. “Nakakaatuwa po kasi ito po ‘yung para talaga sa Team NIV, inaabangan ng mga supporters. Tsaka binabasa po nila Sir Carlo ‘yung mga feedbacks ng fans kaya tingin ko magugustuhan po talaga nila ito,” said Abby.

“I feel so blessed po kasi from unang music video ng MNL48 hanggang ngayon po nakasama po ako, ang dami po namin pero patuloy po akong binibigyan ng chance to show po ‘yung capabilities ko as an idol. Dito po very challenging sakin ‘yung fierce portion, very different po,” Jem added.

Jem also hopes to feel all the satisfactions of the fans as they are very sure of the excellent quality of the music video. “They are full of ideas po, very easy to work with, and talagang nakikita po namin na gusto po nilang maging successful itong first idol group sa Philippines.”
